On the International Day of mental health care, the Fr.Triest Award was presented to M.S.Chellamuthu Trust and Research Foundation, Madurai, for the year 2014 for “Outstanding Work in Fighting Stigma Associated with Mental Health”. It is an initiative of Fracarita India (BoCS) Brothers of Charity, the Indian NGO under the umbrella of Fracarita International, represented by Rev.Bro.Swaminathan Wilfred, Regional Supervisor of India in collaboration with Department of Women’s Studies, Alagappa University, represented by Dr.S.Kaliyamoorthy, Convenor –Vice Chancellor Officiating Committee, Alagappa University. Karaikudi. Ms Priya, Social Worker, Home for the Mentally ill, Paramakudi presented the role of M.S.Chellamuthu Trust and Research Foundation and Home for the Mentally Ill, Paramakudi in the field of mental health and stigma associated with mental health.
