The Department of Livelihood Promotion, an initiative of M.S.Chellamuthu Trust and Research Foundation has opened a stall “Gift Corner” at Temple City Hotel at Kathapatti village on the Trichy –Madurai Highway. The stall is run by “Subitcham “a family fellowship programme for the persons with mental disabilities with the technical support by the Trust. It exhibits and promotes sale of C.A.R.E (Concern, Appreciation, Respect and Empathy towards mentally disabled) products made by persons with mental disabilities. It also creates awareness to the general public on mental health.
The stall was inaugurated by Mr. Thirupathy, the proprietor of the Temple City Hotel in the presence of Rotary International Club members Ms.CherylAnnMinshew, Mr.Betty Jean Daily. Mr. Michael Ray Whitehurst and Dr.C.Ramasubramanian, on 12th January,2016. By the opening of the stall more and more job opportunities are created and thereby the persons with mental disability and their families attain financial independence through livelihood activities.
