The Summer Camp – 2016 for the wards of staff members was conducted on 28th May, 2016 at Bodhi, Chellamuthu Gardens, Alagarkoil, a project of M.S.Chellamuthu Trust and Research Foundation, as a staff welfare activities of the Trust. The main objective of the programme was to create a forum for the children to learn new opportunities, challenges to conquer, to mingle with other children of similar age group, exhibit their talents and to create an awareness of the activities of the Trust.
51 Students in the age group of 5 to 15 years participated in the event. Mr. Ganghadaharan, Yoga Therapist, Mr. Arafath, Social Worker, Ph.D scholar were the special guests. They trained the participants in Yoga, Aerobics and movements therapy. These experiences gave participants an opportunity to explore the outdoors while developing greater social and environmental awareness, increased self-confidence and positive growth in attitudes towards physical activity.
Competitions were held in traditional games, exhibition of Individual Talents and prizes were distributed to the winners. Mrs. Jothirani, Principal-Aakaash Special School, Mr. Sahayaraj, Social Worker, Bodhi , G.Karnan, PCO., M.R.Home , Thirumohur coordinated the event. It was truly a memorable day for the participants.
