Aakaash Special School celebrated Annual Day “VANNANGAL” on 23rd April,2015, at M.S.Chellamuthu Gardens, Ayathampatti, Alagarkoil, Madurai.
Mr.S.Veeraraghaven, Joint General Secretary, Indian Overseas Bank Officers’ Association was the Chief Guest and Mr.T. Hari Hara Sudan, Assistant General Secretary, Madurai, Indian Officers’ Association felicitated the function. Special Address was given by Smt.R.Rajkumari, Executive Director, M.S.Chellamuthu Trust and Research Foundation (MSCT&RF).
The Annual Day started with our student Selvi. Latha Krithikas’ Trust prayer. Team Leader Mr.Sankarapandian- Team Leader, MSCT&RF welcomed the guests, officials of the Trust and the parents of the school children who attended in large numbers
Mrs. Jothirani, Principal- Aakaash Special School, gave the Annual Report for the year 2014-2015 highlighting various special education, activities and therapies given to the differently abled children and the field visits made during the year. It is appreciable to note that our differently abled children had actively participated in various competitions and won prizes in yoga and games conducted by various institutions and District Differently Abled Welfare Office (DDAWO) Madurai.
The children enacted a play stressing the importance of clean environment and personal hygiene, making the earth clean by separating wastes as bio degradable and non degradable. Every programme they conducted emphasized on keeping the environment clean. Exhibition of their talents through their impressive dance performance and also yoga with perfection resounded the message that “we too can excel”.
Mr.T.Hari Hara Sudan,in his felicitation said he was much happy and pleased to attend the function and appreciated the students and the staff for good performance.
Mr.S.Veeraraghavan, JGS, IOBOA in his address expressed his deep sense of satisfaction in the maintenance of the school building “Jnanadeepam” donated by Indian Overseas Bank Officers’ Association.
Smt.R.Rajkumari, Executive Director, MSCT&RF in her special address, thanked IOB Officers’ Association immensely for their consistent and unconditional support in bringing “Jnanadeepam” school to reality.
