VANNANGAl – 2016, the Annual Day event of AAKAASH, Special School of the Trust was held at IOBOA’s Jnana Deepam Building on 26.04.2016. Hon’ble JusticeMr.P.N.Prakash, Judge, Madurai Bench of Madras High Court, the Chief Guest of the event addressed the gathering. He lauded the Trust services and appreciated the special teachers for their extra-ordinary commitments towards mainstreaming the God given children. He appealed the public to come forward to join as volunteers towards serving this underprivileged sector that shows his great care and concern for the persons with mental disabilities. Thiru.L.Thirugnanasambandam, General Manager, Indian Overseas Bank, Madurai Region delivered special address and Thiru.Harihara Sudhan, Assistant General Secretary, IOBOA offered felicitation.
Mrs. Jothirani, Principal- Aakaash Special School, presented the Annual Report for the year 2015-2016 highlighting various special education activities, therapies given to the differently abled children and the field visits made during the year.
The God given children enacted a play stressing the importance to save mother’s earth from Natural disasters recently faced by the State at Chennai. Exhibition of their talents through their impressive dance performance and also yoga with perfection resounded their message that “we too can excel”.
Special Children and Special Educators were honoured by the dignitaries on the occasion. Earlier Mr.K.S.P.J.Babu, Director- Programmes, of the Trust delivered welcome speech and Mrs.Meenakshi, Special Educator proposed vote of thanks.
